The official guide to the cup
Ezdin Skill Racing Commission
It’s the 73rd Jubilee Cup race this year in Ezdin! Onlookers and punters have been streaming into the city for the last few months, the streets are bustling, the taverns are rowdy, and the bookies are working overtime.
Started 288 years ago, the cup celebrates the founding of our beloved and mighty Cin’Dar Republic. Since its inception the cup has always been a fusion of cutting-edge engineering and skilled racers, showing the best of aerial combat. This year, Prime Marshal Maxiumus Ironthorne, supreme commander of the legions, announced from the Senate floor that the races would also celebrate “not only the birth of our beloved city, but we also raise our voices in celebration for the many successes of our campaigns across Sordane”. The Senate have recalled both Republic legions and navy to Ezdin for the celebration.
Race sponsors this year are Decimus Valerian of House Drusus and Decimus Nerva of House Aventius. This year all of our beloved Senators will join in the festivities race-side at the senate pavilion. This season sees a price pool of ½ million gold coins, and lucrative contracts with the research engineers of Academy Cognitus and the skyship foundries of House Ignatius.
As always, the race is overseen by the Ezdin Skill Racing Commission (eSRC), who also set and monitor the rules for the season. Our race takes place around the area of Haggler's Court in the capital city of Ezdin; with our bold competitors out to complete 5 full turns about the course to be declared victors.
Trials for the race have been going on since the end of last season, the last 4 years. Most recently the final qualifying trials, called the Four Princes Regatta, was held in Lowatch this spring. A strong set of six qualifying teams will take to the starting line at noon on the 1st of Sunburst, with race-side viewing tickets reaching unprecedented prices.
Despite the expense, there is an air of jubilation across the city for the race!
