He is clean-shaven and has short, dark hair. His expression is mostly serious, but there is a hint of a smile. Rufus often wears a dark long coat, with the top button done up, the collar turned up around his neck and a light-coloured shirt underneath.

  Rufus is "affiliated", at least on paper with dozens of trade and mercantile guides across the continent of Bordair, some of which are legitimate, most of which are forgeries.

His clothing and expression carry him as a professional, and he gives an impression of quiet confidence and determination.

Rufus is the captain of the The Doubtless Drake, a shoal-class barge in the service of the Arrodan organised crime syndicate. Most often smuggling small loads of goods across the Cin’Dar borders.

Rufus is motivated by getting the job done with no fuss and maintaining his credibility both to the syndicate and as a humble cargo captain.

Rufus is captain of The Doubtless Drake, an Algor Cruiser, although it is owned by the Arrodan syndicate, his other possessions include:

• Several sets of clothing, tailored to his various disguises, a humble captain, a rich toff, a drunken sailor, and many others.
• An extensive collection of books, manuscripts and other writings.
• A small country house in Sh'Reet

Signs and portents are the life-blood of Sordane. Like all beings adrift on the floating sphere, Rufus is subject to the forces of destiny.

Rufus's Divine Tarot is "The Magician" - his destiny represents a life of resourcefulness, cunning, and charisma.

Rufus's true role in the Hands of Fate is unknown, although to date he has been instrumental in conveying our heroes to the places the prophesy needs them to be.

Master of Skills: The Magician is a card of resourcefulness, skill, and using one's talents to manipulate circumstances. As a pirate or smuggler, the character would need to be clever, adaptive, and quick on their feet, much like The Magician who knows how to utilize the resources at hand.

Deception and Charm: The Magician is often seen as a charismatic figure, someone who can bend situations to their will through words and sleight of hand, aligning well with a roguish character who might use charm or manipulation to get what they want.

• Conveyed our heroes to the city of 🏢Orhaz via the Osflatar port of Loxa (🗺️Bordair), with ⚓The Crystal Maiden under tender.
• Boarded by inspector Ulric Ashglade of The Opportune Mistress, a Rassen Assault Frigate, flying the flag of the The Gilded Carrack (Orhaz) trade guild.
• Bribed by inspector Ulric Ashglade to avoid having his contraband (rum stolen from Sh'Reet) inspected or impounded.
• Provided a guided tour from the air of the environs, locations and factions of the port city of 🏢Orhaz.
• Waited with his ship and crew in 🏢Orhaz, while our heroes undertook their mission to the lost island.
