Hands of Fate

Signs and portents are the life-blood of Sordane. Like all beings adrift on the floating sphere, Carl is subject to the forces of destiny.

Carl's Divine Tarot is The Wheel of Fortune - his destiny represents change, destiny and the cycles of life. Those born under the sign of The Wheel have an uncanny connection to the skeins of fate, often able to perceive and record the turning points and the influence of fate on their own journey, and the journeys of others.

Carl's role in the Hands of Fate is writ large in the stars, he is destined to record the story of The Lead Zeppelin to the history books as an old man. He is the Hand of Fate itself, his recollection of the story, its trials and tribulations are the roll of the dice and the strike of the quill upon the parchment.

Story

Background

Carl grew up a farm boy with his aunt Beru and his uncle Owen, in rural Sh'Reet, on the outskirts of the town of Brightwood.

When he could he would travel in to town and meet with his friends at Mooncalf station, to swap stories of one-shotting kobolds in the Umbra Forest, just out of town.

Sometimes he would look up at Helste and Klengst, the twin suns of Sordane, and feel a force which surrounded him, and connected him to the universe. In his heart of hearts he would feel he was destined for some great story - alongside a short master who was frustrated with him (๐ŸšนGunter Shortreach), a mystic guide (๐ŸšนChoTaan Gathakanathi), a roguish captain (๐ŸšนMerrick Landon) and a short droid (๐ŸšนLyra du Vectari).
